The Co-Operative

The Bermagui Fishermen’s Co-Operative Limited, was one of the first in the country, founded in 1946 by visionary fishermen, which solidified Bermagui’s longstanding commercial fishing industry.

Today, under the leadership of Rocco Lagana and a resilient Board of Directors, the Co-op is world renowned for sustainability, supplying diverse markets with prized pelagic catches of Marlin varieties, Bluefin and Yellowfin Tuna, as well as Albacore, Flathead, Ling, Snapper, Bream.

 

All whilst honouring the Yuin heritage and its long serving community contributors.

Who We Are

The Bermagui Fishermen’s Co-operative, founded in 1946, has flourished under the strategic leadership of its Board of Directors. Overcoming challenges like fisheries restructuring, the Board secured crucial grants and local support to build a modern wharf precinct in 2009.

Their efforts ensured the Co-op's sustainability, enabling it to continue supplying national and international seafood markets with diversity of plagaic catch, including Bluefin Tuna, Swordfish, while upholding a commitment to sustainable practices.

Our Wharf precinct offers a range of facilities including a 24-hour distillate fuel dock, vessel berths, and modern guest amenities and facilities.

 

Furthermore our commercial precinct has Bermagui Boat Repairs, slipway, and a range of retail outlets, cafes, bars and restaurants with local produce, for a comprehensive maritime experience.

FUEL DOCK

As you enter the leads to the Bermagui Port you will see the first wharf with our self service Fuel Dock, opposite the council boat ramp.

TIDES & DEPTHS

Tidal depth of 2.3 metres at he leads of the Bermagui port means some vessels should enter with caution, even at high tide.

Ensure safe navigation into port and stay ahead of the weather here.
